Skymedia’s traffic information service, Traffix, was brought into the Viasuisse in 2003. Skymedia is today one of the four controlling shareholders of Viasuissse. As local editors for the region including Zürich, Aargau, Lucerne, Schywz and eastern Switzerland, Traffix collects traffic information for Viasuisse and works with the same data bank as the centre in Biel. The information is transmitted live on Radio 24, Radio Zürisee and Radio Top by Traffix employees. The other radio stations, Radio Energy, Radio 1, Radio Pilatus and Radio Sunshine receive updated bulletins by Email every half hour. The TCS/Viasuisse helicopter is regularly in the air during busy morning and evening rush hours to pass on the info to the Traffix editors. At big events the traffic is observed and reported live from the helicopter. Jürg Fleischmann, founder of Traffix, adapted this US American system to European conditions. |
